Catherine Tai

Biography

I was introduced to music at an early age and started playing piano when I was 9 years old. My parents encouraged me to take lessons to enhance my passion, and by the time I was 15 years of age I had won several large piano and singing competitions in Taiwan.

After winning one of the largest competitions in Taiwan, I came to perform throughout California. It was on that trip I fell in love with the US, and knew one day I would come back to perform and teach.

I received my Bachelor's Degree in Piano Performance in Taiwan and began teaching in 1996. Once arriving and living in Los Angeles, I obtained my certificate of Jazz Piano and Voice at The Musicians Institute in Hollywood.

With years of experience performing on stage as a piano player and singer, and with an international orchestra; my lifetime goal is to share my love of music with students.

One of my greatest joys is seeing students introduced to music, watching their skills progress, and helping enhance their passion for music.
