"JAZZ WORKSHOP I" is for beginning students who have played their instrument since September of 2011, or before. (See list of instruments below). Any Questions, check with Instructor.

FOCUS: Emsemble playing as a group; Learning to read and phrase Jazz; Learning the fundamentals of improvising.

BOOK NEEDED: None

 

"JAZZ WORKSHOP II" is open to Middle School students, High School students, and adults who play any of the instruments listed below. Knowledge of Jazz, or ability to improvise is not a prerequisite. Any questions, check with Instructor.

FOCUS: Jazz ensemble playing; Reading & phrasing Jazz; Usage of chord symbols; Improvisation; Emphasis on tone, technique, & style.
